Grace Baptist Church

About

Grace Baptist Church is a historic, evangelical Baptist congregation located in Santa Clarita, California, committed to making and multiplying Christ-followers who magnify the glory of God by teaching and modeling God’s Word in the power of the Spirit and engaging our world as agents of transformation. We are a local church governed under biblical authority with qualified elders (also called pastors/overseers) as under-shepherds, accountable to Christ as the only Head of the Church. While Christ’s authority is supreme, elders lead in teaching, shepherding, and oversight, and deacons serve as ministers of mercy to assist the elders and congregation. Membership involves a covenant commitment to the church’s mission and mutual accountability. We hold a Baptist ecclesiology, affirming that the Church is the gathered body of regenerate believers called out to worship, disciple, and proclaim the gospel in obedience to Christ. We believe that the local church is the primary context for discipleship, mutual encouragement, and church discipline, reflecting the New Testament pattern of worship, fellowship, and mission. Our doctrinal commitments are grounded in the historic, evangelical Baptist conviction that: - The Bible is God’s authoritative, inerrant Word and the final rule for faith and life. - There is one Triune God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; eternally distinct yet fully divine. - Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, whose life, death, burial, and resurrection accomplish salvation for sinners. - Salvation is by God’s grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone; believers are justified, regenerated, progressively sanctified, and preserved by God’s power. - The Church consists of believers baptized by immersion as a confession of faith and is called to observe the two ordinances Christ instituted - baptism and the Lord’s Supper. - The Great Commission shapes our life together: to make disciples, baptize them, and teach obedience to Christ. Grace Baptist values faithful exposition of Scripture, a gospel-centered community life, and active engagement in mission at home and abroad, all under the lordship of Jesus Christ.
