About
Golden Hills Community Church (GHCC) is located in Brentwood, California, about one hour east of San Francisco. We are 35 years old, consisting of a congregation of about 2,200 people. In June 2019, through the wonderful leadership of our elder board, we engaged in a very healthy pastoral transition, saying goodbye to our founding pastor (Larry Adams) and welcoming in new senior pastor Phil Ward. Under Phil's leadership, the church is being exhorted in a Gospel-Centered, Christo-Centric ecclesiological model. GHCC is a baptist church, long-time members of the Converge denomination. We are unofficially Reformed-Baptists (the personal distinctive of our senior pastor, and many of the staff). Our purpose statement is to “glorify God by making disciples who will impact every area of the world for Christ.” As a staff, we are greatly indebted to the contributions that 9Marks makes to the ecclesiological life of the local congregation. So many of our leaders have been directly (or indirectly) impacted by the 9Marks ministry.
