About
Fresh Start Ministries is a church plant of Western Avenue Baptist Church. Fresh Start is pastored by Heath S. Rickmond, a graduate and current Ph. D. candidate in Systematic Theology at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. We hold to the Baptist Faith and Message and teach Reformed theology. The plant is small, about 20 consistent people, and focuses on the importance of God's sovereign grace and His glory displayed in local churches. We have been in existence for one year. We practice biblical church discipleship and discipline. We are currently teaching through the 9 Marks of a Healthy church on Sunday morning during our discipling hour (9:45-10:45) and going through a Bible overview preaching style (one sermon for each book). We primarily have younger people (under 40) in our congregation, but also have all ages in attendance.
